Manchester City will be hoping to bounce straight back to winning ways when they host Reading at The Academy Stadium on Saturday evening.
Gareth Taylor’s side were defeated 3-0 by Barcelona in the first leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final tie in Monza in midweek and City will be keen to erase memories of that loss when they take on a Reading team who are a match for any side on their day.
City boss Taylor has indicated that his side have no fresh injury concerns ahead of their fixture against The Royals. Long term absentees Gemma Bonner and Megan Campbell remain sidelined, as does captain Steph Houghton who is at least a couple of weeks away from regaining her fitness.
Reading boss Kelly Chambers is not expected to have any changes to her squad availability this weekend with Lauren Bruton and Brooke Chaplen again set to be the main absentees. After The Royals fired blanks against Spurs in their last game, forward Danielle Carter could be considered for a recall to the starting XI.
Manchester City’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Reading is scheduled to kick-off at 5.30pm on Saturday evening and will be available for fans to stream live on the FA Player.
