Reading winger Rachel Rowe has signed a new three-year deal with the club according to reports on The Royals’ official website.
The 28-year-old Welsh international midfielder has spent the last six years with Reading, helping the club establish themselves as a household name in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Rowe has been a regular in the Reading side this season, featuring in 14 of their matches in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and scoring four goals in the process. With the player’s current deal at The Madejski Stadium close to expiry, manager Kelly Chambers has moved quickly to agree a new contract with Rowe which will keep her with the Berkshire club until summer 2024.
The midfielder started her senior career across the border with Cardiff City back in 2012. Rowe then moved to Swansea City where she spent two years before joining to Reading. The player initially joined The Royals on a semi-professional basis but soon turned professional after helping the club earn a place in the top tier.
Last summer saw a number of relatively long-serving players leave Reading but the same thing is unlikely to happen again this year. Rowe’s deal comes off the back of recent contract extensions for Grace Moloney and Brooke Chaplen, moves that will see the core of the squad remain for the coming years.
