Sheffield United have agreed a permanent deal for defender Ocean Rolandsen according to reports on The Blades’ official website.
The 23-year-old initially joined The Blades on a dual registration basis from FA Women’s National League South club Watford in mid-January and the player has made a positive impact on the squad since her arrival at The Technique Stadium.
Rolandsen’s short term deal with Sheffield United was set to expire at the end of the season, however, the club have today announced that the player has agreed to remain with them permanently.
The defender has enjoyed a successful start to her Sheffield United career. Rolandsen has featured for The Blades on nine occasions in all competitions with six of those outings resulting in wins. With the South Yorkshire club targeting promotion next season, head coach Neil Redfearn has moved quickly to secure Rolandsen’s services off the back of that impressive start.
Rolandsen started her career with Chelsea before later going on to represent Millwall Lionesses and London Bees. A move to Watford followed and the defender has spent the last two years on the books of The Golden Girls.
Sheffield United and Rolandsen complete the 2020/2021 season with a Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
