Manchester City have completed the signing of defensive player Ruby Mace from Arsenal on a three-year deal.
The 17-year-old is one of the most highly-rated young players in the English game and she has impressed whilst playing for loan club Birmingham City this season.
Manchester City confirmed the move via an official club press release earlier this morning. The club have awarded the player the number 30 shirt.
Mace came through the youth system at Arsenal and went on to make her senior debut for the club in September 2020. She made a small number of further appearances for The Gunners being heading out on loan to Birmingham City. Mace made 11 appearances for the Blues, scoring two goals as the club successfully retained their Barclays FA Women’s Super League status.
Upon joining Manchester City, Mace said “I’m so happy and excited to join Manchester City.
“As a 17-year-old, it’s the biggest moment in my short career so far. I’ve got so much to learn and develop in my game and I feel this is the best environment for me to achieve my dreams.
“Amazing players, an amazing Club and amazing coaches. I’d also like to thank Arsenal for all they have done for me to get me to this point.”
Mace becomes Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor’s first signing of the summer.
