Durham agree contract extensions with three more players

Durham have continued their preparations for next season by agreeing contract extensions with three more important members of the squad.

Sarah Wilson, Ellie Christon, Beth Hepple, Kathryn Hill, Mollie Lambert and Sarah Robson had already agreed fresh terms with the club and Durham have today revealed that three more players will be staying at Maiden Castle.

Forward Bridget Galloway was the first player of the day to sign new terms. The Wildcats have confirmed that Galloway has signed on for another season after scoring five goals in 20 FA Women’s Championship appearances this season. Galloway joined Durham from neighbours Sunderland last summer.

The second player to sign on again at Durham is defender Becky Salicki. The club have confirmed that the player has also signed a new one-year deal. Salicki has made 101 appearances in her five years with The Wildcats, an appearance tally which puts her in sixth in the all-time list of Durham’s top appearance-makers.

Durham have also confirmed that versatile midfielder Lauren Briggs is staying in the North East for another year. Briggs was one of the club’s top performers this season as they ran Leicester City close in the race for promotion to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. The player missed just one game in the FA Women’s Championship in what was her fifth campaign with the club.

Further news on Durham’s 2021/2022 squad is set to be announced in due course.
