Sheffield United head coach Neil Redfearn has continued his summer squad-building with the signing of London Bees centre-back Georgia Robert.
The 26-year-old has signed a contract with The Blades for next season and she joins Sophie Bradley-Auckland and Jess Clarke in moving to The Technique Stadium this summer.
Sheffield United informed FAWSL Full-Time of the signing of Robert via an official club press release earlier today.
Robert started her career with Leeds United before moving to the United States. Upon her return to England, the player has gained plenty of FA Women’s Championship experience in spells with Lewes, Millwall Lionesses and London Bees. The defender has spent the last two seasons with The Bees, appearing for the club on 31 occasions in the second tier and scoring two goals.
After signing on at Sheffield United, Robert said “I’m very happy, I’m absolutely buzzing to be here. The past three seasons, Sheffield United have done consistently well so I’m looking forward to getting in and continuing that and hopefully pushing on to be better.
“I’m looking forward to getting in there. Sheffield United has a good reputation as a club, good players, a good manager, it’s just exciting to be a part of. As soon as it was on the table and after I spoke to Neil, it was pretty much a no-brainer for me.”
Sheffield United are bidding to push for promotion to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League next season after finishing the 2020/2021 campaign in fourth place.
