Tottenham Hotspur have completed the double signing of former Everton pair Tinja-Riikka Korpela and Maeva Clemaron.
Both players left Everton earlier this summer when their deals at Walton Hall Park came to an end. Both Korpela and Clemaron had spent the last two years with The Blue Girls.
Spurs first announced the signing of French international midfielder Clemaron. The former Lyon apprentice has signed a one-year deal at The Hive and she will wear the number 21 shirt for Spurs this season. Clemaron has 22 Barclays FA Women’s Super League games under her belt while she has appeared in the French top flight on more than 100 occasions with previous clubs Saint-Etienne and FC Fleury 91.
Soon after announcing Clemaron’s arrival, Spurs revealed that veteran keeper Korpela has also joined the club. The 35-year-old is edging towards a century of appearances for the Finnish national team while she can count two Frauen-Bundesliga titles amongst her career honours. Like Clemaron, Korpela has also signed a one-year deal with Spurs while the club will hold the option of a further year. She will provide competition for first choice goalkeeper Becky Spencer.
Spurs head coach Rehanne Skinner has now signed three players this summer with South Korean international Cho So-hyun having also joined the North Londoners.
