Everton manager Willie Kirk has completed his fourth signing of the summer with The Blue Girls having acquired the services of Swedish international defender Nathalie Bjorn according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 24-year-old joins The Blue Girls from Swedish Damallsvenskan club FC Rosengard with Everton paying an undisclosed fee for her services. The player has signed a three-year deal at Walton Hall Park.
Bjorn had long been rumoured to be on Everton boss Kirk’s radar and news of the transfer comes as no surprise.
The full-back has spent the last three years with FC Rosengard and she was a Swedish title winner with the club. Bjorn was also a UEFA Under-19 Women’s Championship winner with Sweden in 2015 while she was a member of the senior team which finished in third place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.
After joining Everton, Bjorn said “It feels amazing to be an Everton player.
“It has been a long process but I’m so happy to be joining this club.
“I feel the Club are building something here and it feels amazing to be a part of that journey.
“It has been a dream of mine to play in other countries and to try see how good I can be.”
Bjorn is the second Swede to join Everton today. She follows former FC Rosengard teammate Anna Anvegard to Walton Hall Park.
