Former Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Kirsty Barton has completed a permanent move to Crystal Palace following a successful loan spell at Hayes Lane according to reports on The Eagles’ official website.

The 29-year-old was one of nine players who were released by Albion at the end of last season. She left The People’s Pension Stadium after a decade of service for The Seagulls.

With Barton short of game time last season, the player spent time on loan with FA Women’s Championship club Palace and it has today been confirmed that she has joined The Eagles on a permanent basis. In her loan spell, Barton made 10 appearances for Palace in the FA Women’s Championship as the club recorded a seventh-place finish.

In other news, Crystal Palace have confirmed that nine other members of last season’s squad have been retained for the upcoming campaign. Chloe Morgan, Leigh Nicol, Siobhan Wilson, Annabel Johnson, Lizzie Waldie, Hannah Churchill, Coral-Jade Haines, Kate Natkiel and Bianca Baptiste are those players who will continue their careers at Hayes Lane.

Goalkeeper Morgan was particularly impressive after joining Palace from Tottenham Hotspur last summer while forward Baptiste was one of the most impressive attackers in the second tier with eight goals in 20 FA Women’s Championship appearances.
