Blackburn Rovers have today confirmed that 13 members of their 2020/2021 squad will remain with them for the new season.
Gemma Donnelly’s side are back in training following the summer break and they travel to West Yorkshire outfit Brighouse Town for a pre-season friendly tomorrow evening.
Rovers have today issued a squad update via their official club website which confirms that 13 players are staying on at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium in 2021/2022. Those players are Annabel Blanchard, Meg Boydell, Alex Brooks, Issy Dean, Emma Doyle, Natasha Fenton, Aimee Hodgson, Saffron Jordan, Chelsey Jukes, Kayleigh McDonald, Jade Richards, Milly Robertson and Lauren Thomas.
Of those players who are contracted to the club for the coming season, it has been confirmed that goalkeeper Brooks, defenders McDonald and Richards and forward Jordan have signed new contracts with Rovers over the summer.
Five players have departed the club, those being Ellie Fletcher, Charlotte Newsham, Georgia Walters, Ria Montgomery and Leah Embley while Chorley announced the signing of Rovers goalkeeper Emma Bradley yesterday.
Rovers finished the 2020/2021 campaign in ninth position. The Lancashire club were winless during the second half of the campaign but continuity in playing personnel could help them hit the ground running in the new season.
