Former Chelsea attacker Karin Muya has joined FA Women’s Championship club London City Lionesses according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old was on The Blues’ books the best part of a decade ago. Muya made her top flight debut with Chelsea in 2013 before later going on to carve out a career in the Italian Serie A.
Muya has today completed a move to London City Lionesses. The player becomes the latest of a host of impressive additions made by London City Lionesses head coach Melissa Phillips.
After completing her move to Princes Park, Muya said “Everyone has been so warm and welcoming. I’m really excited to get going and be part of the LCL team.”
London City Lionesses boss Phillips has now added six new faces ahead of the new season. Muya joins Rianna Jarrett, Brooke Nunn, Amy Rodgers, Jamie-Lee Napier and Charlotte Fleming in moving to Princes Park this summer.
London City Lionesses knew that further quality was needed if the club are to press on in 2021/2022. We are seeing plenty of ambition shown by The Pride in the summer transfer window and that will stand the club in good stead for the challenges that await this season.
