West Ham United have completed the signing of Everton midfielder Abbey-Leigh Stringer according to reports on The Hammers’ official website.
The 26-year-old moves to The Chigwell Construction Stadium on the back of a three-year spell with former club Everton.
The Nuneaton-born midfielder made 40 appearances for Everton in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and scored one goal. Stringer was also a member of the Everton side which reached the Vitality Women’s FA Cup final last season. She came off the bench to feature for The Blue Girls in extra-time in the final at Wembley.
After completing her move to West Ham United, Stringer said “I’m delighted to make the move to West Ham United. It’s really exciting to be joining the club and I’m looking forward to starting this next chapter in my career. My main goal is to work hard, express myself and ultimately enjoy my football.
“I’m a really aggressive and dynamic midfielder. I enjoy breaking up play, playing on the front foot and being positive with my overall play. I like to get around the pitch and pass the ball, I’m a composed midfield player and hopefully I can make an impact here at West Ham.”
Stringer is West Ham United manager Olli Harder’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
