The Football Association have this morning confirmed the early season television schedule for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship.
In an official press release, it has been revealed that 15 Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixtures will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and on the BBC during the opening two months of the season while seven matches from the FA Women’s Championship will be shown live on the FA Player.
Manchester United’s home game against Reading will kick-off the Sky Sports coverage on Friday 3 September while Arsenal’s game against Chelsea will also be shown by the broadcaster on Sunday 5 September. The BBC One offering on opening weekend will be Everton’s meeting with Manchester City on Saturday 4 September, which will now be played at Goodison Park.
Five of the 15 early season games broadcast will include Barclays FA Women’s Super League champions Chelsea while Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton will feature in four live matches.
The FA Women’s Championship coverage on the FA Player begins on Sunday 29 August with Crystal Palace’s fixture against Bristol City. Every club will have a game streamed live before the end of October.
