Coventry United defender Roberts joins Solihull Moors

Coventry United defender Jenna Roberts has joined FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands club Solihull Moors.

The player was on the fringes of Jay Bradford’s senior squad last season and she will be hoping for more regular football this term after making the switch to Solihull Moors.

Roberts becomes the second Coventry United player to join The Moors this summer with young goalkeeper Jodie Whiteman having joined the West Midlands club on a season-long loan deal last month.

Solihull Moors announced the move via a post on their official club Twitter account this morning.

Roberts has been on Coventry United’s books for both of their seasons in the FA Women’s Championship. In the 2019/2020 season, the player made the bench on a couple of occasions, however, her progress was restricted due to a niggling injury. Despite her time on the sidelines, Roberts signed a new contract with the club last summer and she was named on the bench in 18 of Coventry United’s 20 games in the FA Women’s Championship in 2020/2021. The defender made her only appearance as a late substitute in the 7-1 defeat at Durham on the final day of the season.

Solihull Moors begin the new FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands season on Sunday when they face Leek Town on home soil.
