Manchester United have confirmed that they will travel to Dunbartonshire to face Rangers in a pre-season friendly next week.
Marc Skinner’s Red Devils will take on the Scottish Women’s Premier League club at the Rangers Training Centre on Thursday 19 August. Fans will be permitted to attend the match with tickets available to purchase from Rangers’ ticketing website. Admission has been priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
The game will form part of a one-week training camp north of the border for Manchester United as they continue their preparations for their Barclays FA Women’s Super League opener against Reading at The Leigh Sports Village on Friday 3 September.
Manchester United drew 2-2 with neighbours Liverpool in their first pre-season friendly last weekend as new boss Skinner took charge of the club for the first time. The Red Devils will face Aston Villa tomorrow at Carrington before they travel to Scotland for their training camp. Skinner’s side will end their pre-season programme with a match against Brighton & Hove Albion at Loughborough University on Saturday 28 August.
Next week’s opponents Rangers have already played Barclays FA Women’s Super League opposition in pre-season. The Glasgow giants were defeated 4-1 by Chelsea at the Rangers Training Centre last night.
