Australian international winger Hayley Raso has confirmed that she is leaving Everton in favour of a fresh challenge.
The 26-year-old Brisbane-born wide player has spent the last 18 months with The Blue Girls, joining the club just weeks before the Coronavirus pandemic hit.
Raso finally made her Everton debut in the 4-0 opening day victory at Bristol City last season before featuring in all 22 Barclays FA Women’s Super League games for Willie Kirk’s side in which she scored five goals.
After initially joining Everton on a short term deal, Raso signed a one-year contract extension with the club last summer but she has now opted to move on. The player announced her departure via a post on her personal Twitter account earlier today in which she thanked the club, her manager, her teammates and the Everton fans for their support.
To @EvertonWomen. My teammates, Willie, staff and the fans. Thank you for an incredible season. Being supported by this club for the past year, has helped me grow as a player and person.
I now look forward to a new challenge. I can’t wait to share my next chapter with you all!

Raso’s post hints that she may already know her next destination. There have been rumours linking the player to other clubs in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, however, it remains to be seen whether Raso remains in England. With Australia having been the joint-highest provider of overseas players to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League last season, it would be no surprise to see Raso stay in the league.
