Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Bance signs two-year professional deal

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Libby Bance has signed a two-year contract with the club with the option of a further year according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.

The 18-year-old has been in and around the first team environment for the past couple of years and she has now signed a contract which is her first professional deal.

Bance made 10 appearances for Albion in last season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League. She was a useful option from the bench with manager Hope Powell bringing her on in nine of those league outings.

After retaining the services of the player for at least two more years, Albion boss Powell said “We’re delighted for Libby, who has worked so hard to earn her first professional contract.

“She has really impressed us since she started training regularly with the first-team squad. She wants to improve every aspect of her game and we’re looking forward to helping her realise her potential.”

Bance is the ninth Albion player to sign a new contract with the club so far this summer. News of the teenager’s new deal comes off the back of Albion teammates Kayleigh Green, Aileen Whelan and Megan Connolly signing on again at The People’s Pension Stadium as the squad numbers continue to grow.
