PREVIEW: Arsenal v PSV

Arsenal will be aiming to reach Round 2 of this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League when they take on Dutch club PSV in their Round 1 final tie at the Sapsan Arena in Moscow on Saturday evening.

The Gunners successfully saw-off Kazakhstani opponents FC Okhetpes on Wednesday in their semi-final tie and Jones Eidevall’s side will now be confident of qualifying for the next round.

Arsenal will again be without Viktoria Schnaderbeck and Jordan Nobbs through injury for their meeting against PSV while defender Leah Williamson is in the UK due to a family matter. Head coach Eidevall could be set to welcome Lia Walti into the fold while he has hinted that there could be starts for Jen Beattie, Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord.

PSV find themselves in the Round 1 final after beating Lokomotiv Moscow 3-1 in their semi-final on Wednesday. Former Arsenal goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal is likely to start for the Dutch side while former Liverpool forward Amalie Thestrup could again lead the attack after netting on her debut in midweek.

Arsenal’s UEFA Women’s Champions League Round 1 final tie against PSV is scheduled to kick-off at 5pm on Saturday evening. Live streaming arrangements are yet to be confirmed, however, the game is expected to be accessed through Arsenal’s official club website.
