Chelsea goalkeeper Emily Orman has joined FA Women’s Championship club Crystal Palace on a season-long loan deal according to reports on The Blues’ official website.
The 18-year-old has spent the last two years on the fringes of Chelsea’s senior squad but she will now compete for the first choice jersey at second tier side Palace in the upcoming campaign alongside Chloe Morgan.
Orman’s loan move was confirmed by the two clubs this afternoon. It seemed likely that the youngster was set to move out on loan this season with Orman having been missing from the youthful Chelsea side which travelled to Scotland to face Glasgow giants Rangers in a pre-season friendly last week.
The keeper is very much in Chelsea manager Emma Hayes’ long term thoughts with The Blues having agreed professional terms with Orman earlier this summer. The player is yet to make her senior debut for the South West Londoners but she has been an unused substitute on seven occasions over the course of the last two seasons.
Orman becomes the seventh summer addition at FA Women’s Championship club Palace. She was quickly followed to Hayes Lane by another young goalkeeper, Hope Smith, who will also provide competition in-between the sticks.
