Manchester United forward Ivana Fuso has been called up by Brazil for their upcoming friendlies against Argentina.
Seleção take on their bitter South American rivals in João Pessoa on Saturday 18 September before playing a second game in Campina Grande three days later. The fixtures will be Brazil’s first games on home soil in nine months.
Brazilian head coach Pia Sundhage named her 23-player squad for the upcoming friendlies this evening with Manchester United forward Ivana being handed a recall. Details of the full squad were released by The Brazilian Football Association, The CBF, via their official website.
After representing Germany at various levels in her youth, Ivana received her first call-up to the Brazil squad in January ahead of the SheBelieves Cup. The youngster made two appearances in the tournament. She made her debut as a substitute in a 4-1 victory over Argentina before starting in the 2-0 win against Canada.
Ivana missed the end of last season with an ankle injury and she subsequently missed out on Brazil’s selection for the Olympic Games in Japan.
The forward is one of six European-based players to be selected in the latest Brazil squad. The majority of the 23-player group currently play their football at home in Brazil.
