Manchester City will be looking to collect points at home at the fourth time of asking in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League when Aston Villa are the visitors to The Academy Stadium on Saturday.
Gareth Taylor’s side have lost all three of their home games so far this season against Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Chelsea but they will be looking to spark an upturn in results by beating an improved Aston Villa side in their latest match
In terms of team news, Ellie Roebuck, Karen Bardsley, Khiara Keating, Steph Houghton, Esme Morgan, Lucy Bronze and Chloe Kelly all remain sidelined for Manchester City while Alanna Kennedy also faces a short spell out. Lauren Hemp has recovered from a shin injury and could start while Janine Beckie’s game time could be managed with the player set to undergo treatment for an ongoing problem.
Aston Villa head coach Carla Ward is hoping to have the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of this weekend’s trip to The Academy Stadium. Back-up goalkeeper Sian Rogers will be assessed with the player carrying a slight knock while Australian international forward Emily Gielnik is back and is likely to lead the attack.
