Everton and Manchester United will hope to put forward their claims to reach the FA Women’s Continental League Cup quarter-finals when they contest their final group match at Walton Hall Park on Wednesday evening.
Both sides have six points in the group but are below group leaders Manchester City. They must therefore hope to better The Cityzens’ result against Leicester City otherwise the calculators will be needed to determine whether either side are ‘the best runner-up’.
Everton go into the match without long term absentee Nicoline Sørensen who is out for the season while Claire Emslie is struggling with an injury which she sustained whilst on international duty with Scotland. Valerie Gauvin has also been a notable absentee from the Everton squad since the last international window.
Manchester United make the short trip to Merseyside without Jackie Groenen and Martha Harris who will not be seen again until the New Year. Head coach Marc Skinner could opt to name a strong starting XI with group qualification on the line.
