Chelsea boss Hayes named amongst finalists for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has made the final shortlist for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach award for 2021.

FIFA informed FAWSL Full-Time of the three finalists earlier today via an official Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2021 press release.

Hayes is joined on the final shortlist by former FC Barcelona head coach Lluís Cortés, who guided the Catalan club to a maiden UEFA Women’s Champions League title in May, and England head coach Sarina Wiegman.

Chelsea boss Hayes guided her side to three trophies in 2021, those being the Barclays FA Women’s Super League title, the FA Women’s Continental League Cup and the Vitality Women’s FA Cup. The Blues boss wrote another chapter to her Chelsea history last year by steering the club to a first UEFA Women’s Champions League title. Hayes was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s honours for her services to the game.

Hayes joins German Ann-Katrin Berger in representing Chelsea at The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2021. The 31-year-old has made the three-player shortlist for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper category.

The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2021 will be hosted on Monday 17 January 2022. Fans will be able to keep up to date with all of the award winners via FIFA’s media platforms.
