Manchester City forward Lauren Hemp has signed a new two-year contract extension with the club.
The 21-year-old was set to be out of contract at The Academy Stadium this summer but she will now remain with The Cityzens until the end of the 2023/2024 campaign.
Manchester City announced news of Hemp’s contract extension via an official club press release earlier today.
Hemp joined Manchester City from then-fellow top flight club Bristol City in summer 2018. The player has gone on to establish herself as one of the most dangerous attackers in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. Hemp has scored 17 goals in 48 league outings while she has also been a regular source of assists.
After signing on again at The Academy Stadium, Hemp said “I’m delighted to have signed a contract extension here at City.
“It’s a club where we’re constantly competing for trophies and success – I’ve already enjoyed some amazing moments here since joining three-and-a-half years ago, and I know that there is much more to come from this team.
“I’m surrounded by some of the best players and coaching staff in the world, and having them around me will only help to develop me even further over the coming years.”
Hemp and Manchester City return to action following the Christmas break when they travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
