FA Women’s National League Southern Premier club Bridgwater United have confirmed that more than 1,000 tickets have been snapped up for their Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Manchester United.
The Red Devils travel to Fairfax Park on Sunday 30 January to face a Bridgwater United side who are currently 24 places below them in the football pyramid.
Tickets for the match went on sale yesterday and Bridgwater United have this evening confirmed that more than 1,000 have been snapped up within the first 24 hours with fans of both clubs keen to watch one of the most intriguing ties of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup’s fourth round. The capacity of Fairfax Park is believed to be around 2,500 and Bridgwater United are planning for a complete sell-out.
Bridgwater United caused the biggest shock of the third round with The Robins defeating in-form FA Women’s Championship club Crystal Palace 1-0 at Fairfax Park. Their glamour fourth round tie comes less than 12 months on from the merger of former clubs Yeovil United and Bridgwater Town. The Somerset club are currently enjoying their first season under their new Bridgwater United identity and are currently in fourth place in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division table.
