Arsenal keeper Negri joins Charlton Athletic on a dual-registration basis

Arsenal’s teenage goalkeeper Natalia Negri has joined FA Women’s Championship club Charlton Athletic on a dual-registration basis according to reports on The Addicks’ official club website.

The 18-year-old is yet to make her senior debut for The Gunners and she will be hoping to get some minutes under her belt whilst on the books of second tier club Charlton Athletic.

The terms of the deal will see Negri eligible to feature for The Addicks while she can also be fielded by Arsenal at academy level in the WSL Academy League. The youngster has made 11 WSL Academy League appearances for The Gunners in 2021/2022 as the club have mounted a strong challenge for the league title.

After completing her move to The Oakwood, Negri said “I came in and everyone has been amazing, the coaches are amazing, so it’s just so good to be a part of such a great team.

“I just want to get some experience. I’m such a young player at the moment, there’s so much to come and I am looking forward to working with with some of these players who have played in the WSL and with Eartha (Cumings), who’s an amazing goalkeeper as well. I think it’s just amazing to be playing with these people.”

Negri could go straight into the Charlton Athletic squad for their FA Women’s Championship fixture against Sheffield United this afternoon.
