Arsenal v Manchester United – Stat Attack

Arsenal and Manchester United meet at Meadow Park tomorrow in what looks to be the ‘Game of the Weekend’ in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

The Gunners continue to top the table while opponents Manchester United are climbing the rankings at a rapid rate and Marc Skinner’s side have the opportunity to cut the gap between the two clubs to just two points.

Ahead of the match, FAWSL Full-Time have taken a look at the statistics provided by Opta. Here are four facts which relate to Arsenal’s meeting with Manchester United.

Arsenal have dominated meetings with The Red Devils

Arsenal have won three of their four matches against Manchester United in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. They have won all meetings at Meadow Park in the league with their only defeat being their 1-0 loss at The Leigh Sports Village last season.

Goalscoring has been a problem for United

Manchester United have only scored one goal across their four previous Barclays FA Women’s Super League meetings with Arsenal, Ella Toone netting the winning goal in last season’s meeting in the North West.

The Red Devils winless in three in the capital

Manchester United have won three of their last eight league games in London and the surrounding areas, however, it should be noted that they have not won any of their last three games in the capital. Their last three opponents in the London area have been Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Improved away form gives Manchester United a chance

Manchester United (W3 D2) are the only Barclays FA Women’s Super League side yet to lose away from home this season. Their away points tally of 11 can only be bettered by Manchester City who have collected 16 of their 20 points on their travels.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Arsenal and Manchester United kicks-off at 12.30pm on Saturday.
