Birmingham City have this morning confirmed that their women’s team will continue to play their home games at St Andrew’s next season.
The Blues have been playing at their traditional home this season after opting to move from their former home venue of the ARMCO Arena in Solihull at the end of the 2020/2021 campaign.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Birmingham City this morning. The move is part of the club’s renewed bid to support their women’s team. It is understood that Birmingham City Women will play at St Andrew’s next term regardless of if their relegation from the Barclays FA Women’s Super League is confirmed.
FAWSL Full-Time spoke with Birmingham City’s interim head coach Darren Carter on Friday regarding his future and the plans for the club. Carter confirmed that talks are ongoing with the club about his future beyond the end of the season and he has reiterated his desire to help them in any way that he can and drive the club back to the glory days. He said that he is fully invested in the club, the team and where it is going in the future.
Birmingham City continue their season with a Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Everton at St Andrew’s on Friday.
