Manchester City will be hoping to continue their push for third place in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League when they welcome Leicester City to The Academy Stadium on Sunday.
The Cityzens are currently hot on the heels of the side who currently occupy third place, Manchester United, and four wins out of four should be enough for Gareth Taylor’s side to qualify for Europe.
Manchester City head coach Taylor continues to be without the services of Karen Bardsley, Steph Houghton and Esme Morgan through injury but January transfer window signing Julie Blakstad will be available after making a full recovery from her recent illness. The condition of Vicky Losada is not currently known, although she has been making good progress on the training pitch.
Leicester City manager Lydia Bedford has confirmed that centre-back Abbie McManus could return after spending more than a month on the sidelines. There are no other positive updates from The Foxes camp with long term absentees Kirstie Levell, Lachante Paul, Jess Sigsworth and Hannah Cain all still out.
The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester City and Leicester City at The Academy Stadium kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
