Reading’s club captain Natasha Harding will leave the Select Car Leasing Stadium at the end of the season according to reports on The Royals’ official website.
The 33-year-old Welsh international forward agreed to join The Royals on a free transfer at the end of 2017 and she has gone on to establish herself as a Reading legend.
Harding has made more than a century of appearances for Reading in all competitions, helping the club to flourish in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League despite the heavy investment amongst many of their rivals. Reading remain well-established members of the English top flight and Harding’s contribution is one of the reasons behind their success. Manager Kelly Chambers put her trust in Harding by handing the forward the captain’s armband, a role that she has taken in her stride.
After Reading announced the news of Harding’s scheduled departure, manager Chambers paid tribute to the player. She said “I’d like to thank Tash for everything she has done in her time with the club. She’s been an integral part of the team and been a huge part of our growth as a club. I have grown a great relationship with Tash both personally and professionally and I’d like to wish her the very best for the future.”
Harding is in-line to make her final appearance for Reading when they host Manchester City at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Sunday.
