West Ham United to travel to Billericay Town for pre-season friendly

West Ham United will travel to FA Women’s National League Division One South East champions Billericay Town for a pre-season friendly this summer.

New manager Paul Konchesky will take The Hammers to New Lodge on Saturday 23 July with the match scheduled to kick-off at 3pm.

The fixture will see the West Ham United boss return to the club where he ended his 23-year senior footballing career. The former England defender enjoyed two spells with Billericay Town in 2017 and 2020. In his first spell with Ricay, Konchesky was a regular for the club in The Pitching In Isthmian League, helping them to the title in 2017/2018. He briefly returned to pull on a blue shirt again for the Essex club in the Vanarama National League South in 2020 and combined his playing duties with an assistant manager role. Konchesky will now make his return to New Lodge in his maiden role as a first team manager of an elite football club with West Ham United.

The Hammers will enjoy a competitive pre-season run-out against Billericay Town. The Blues won the FA Women’s National League Division One South East this season, beating Hashtag United to the title by a single point. The club will move into the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division next season.

Details of whether fans will be permitted to attend the game along with admission prices will be announced by Billericay Town in due course.
