Arsenal forward Caitlin Foord has signed a new deal with the club.
The Gunners informed FAWSL Full-Time of the news via an official club press release. The news comes just days after Arsenal retained the services of star striker Vivianne Miedema for the long term.
The 27-year-old Australian international attacker joined Arsenal from Sydney FC during the January 2020 transfer window and the player has gone on to net 23 goals in 62 appearances for The Gunners across four different competitions. Foord has been a useful option for Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall since his arrival at the club last summer.
Arsenal fans were keen to see Foord extend her stay with the club this summer and they have now got their wish with the forward being the latest player to commit her immediate future to the North Londoners.
After signing her new deal, Foord said “It feels amazing. Since I joined this club, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with being here. I think I mentioned in one of my early interviews that I had lost my way in football a bit, but since being here I’ve absolutely fallen in love and found myself again.
“We’ve been inching towards winning lots of silverware and that’s definitely going to be the plan for next year. We want to win multiple trophies and I think with the squad, the team, the players and the support we have, we have the squad to be able to do it.”
In-line with Arsenal’s club policy, the length of Foord’s new deal has been left undisclosed.
