Highly-rated Sheffield United midfielder Tamara Wilcock has signed professional terms with the club for next season.
The 18-year-old, who has graduated into the Sheffield United first team from their Regional Talent Club (RTC), has developed well in the last couple of years and is deserving of her first professional deal.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of Wilcock’s new contract via an official club press release from Sheffield United this afternoon.
Wilcock made five appearances for Sheffield United in all competitions this season while she was regularly included in head coach Neil Redfearn’s matchday squads. The player also spent time with third tier side Nottingham Forest after signing dual-registration terms with The Tricky Trees.
After signing her first professional deal at Sheffield United, Wilcock said “I’m really excited. Obviously, Sheffield United is a big club and I’ve been working towards this all last season and the season before. I’m just really excited to get going.”
Wilcock will be hoping to further establish herself in the Sheffield United first team next season as the club look to kick on in the FA Women’s Championship. The Blades finished the current campaign in seventh position but there were lots of positives to take into the next campaign.
