Teenager Halle Houssein has announced that she is leaving Arsenal this summer.
The 17-year-old midfielder has spent the last 13 years with The Gunners but she is moving on to start the next chapter of her career.
Houssein took to her personal Twitter account to announce her Arsenal departure earlier today.
Houssein was once tipped to be the North Londoners’ next Mesut Ozil. The player is one of the most highly-rated young talents to come through the Arsenal academy in recent times. The midfielder made her first senior appearance for The Gunners in their 4-0 win at Reading early last season. Houssein was handed a first team shirt after impressing Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall during the club’s pre-season programme.
With Houssein in need of regular first team experience, the youngster joined Arsenal’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League rivals West Ham United on dual-registration basis midway through the season. The player made eight appearances for the East Londoners in all competitions, helping the club to their highest-ever finish in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Houssein becomes the third player to leave Arsenal this week. She follows Lisa Evans and Viktoria Schnaderbeck out of the exit door at the LV Bet Stadium.
Sad to say I will be leaving @ArsenalWFC after being there since the age of 4. I’ve had so many great memories working with fantastic people and staff. Thanks Gooners🫡❤️ pic.twitter.com/TIw7DFlTel
