Former Arsenal midfielder Houssein joins West Ham United on free transfer

West Ham United have completed the signing of former Arsenal midfielder Halle Houssein on a free transfer according to reports on The Hammers’ official club website.

The teenager moves to The Chigwell Construction Stadium on the back of her personal announcement just a couple of weeks’ ago that she was to leave childhood club Arsenal this summer.

Houssein returns to West Ham United after spending the second half of last season with the club. The midfielder signed dual-registration terms with the East Londoners back in January. Houssein made five substitute appearances for The Hammers in the Barclays Women’s Super League in her initial spell.

After completing her West Ham United return, Houssein said “It’s a great feeling and a real honour to sign permanently with the Club.

“West Ham is a hard-working, family Club and I think playing here will provide me with the best possible chance to develop and learn as I continue to grow as a player.

“Deep down, I’ve always wanted to wear the shirt because I support West Ham, and I achieved that last season – but to have signed here permanently is an amazing feeling.

“I can’t wait to get going again and see what next season will bring.”

Houssein becomes West Ham United’s second signing of the summer following the addition of Republic of Ireland international Jess Ziu.
