Former Leicester City forward Abbi Grant has joined Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 club Glasgow City according to reports on their official website.
The 26-year-old Dundee-born attacker spent the second half of this season on-loan with the Petershill Park outfit after making just a couple of appearances for parent club Leicester City. Grant joined The Foxes last summer following a two-year spell with Birmingham City.
Grant’s two-and-a-half years playing south of the border have been dominated by injury troubles. The forward made 13 Barclays Women’s Super League appearances in her first season at Birmingham City but she managed just three league outings in the one-and-a-half seasons which followed before joining Glasgow City on loan in January this year.
After completing her return to Glasgow City, Grant said “Glasgow City is like home to me.
“I’m delighted to have signed a permanent deal for the upcoming season and I’m excited for what’s to come and can’t wait to get started again with the team.”
Glasgow City is very much home for Grant. The player is now set to begin her fourth spell with the club after representing them between 2014 and 2015, 2017 and 2019 and in the first half of 2022. Grant will be hoping to get back to her very best form in the Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 next season.
