Lewes have agreed a contract extension with midfielder Amelia Hazard following an impressive first campaign at The Dripping Pan.
The Rookettes announced the news this evening via a post on their official club Twitter account.
Hazard joined Lewes from former Barclays Women’s Championship club London Bees last summer. The midfielder went on to feature in every league game for the Sussex club this season, contributing three goals along the way.
After signing a new deal with Lewes, Hazard said “I am really pleased to announce that I have agreed terms for a renewed contract for the 2022/2023 season with Lewes FC.
“I am looking forward to continuing my journey with the club in what will be another competitive season in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
“I am also looking forward to working with manager Scott Booth in what will be his first season with us and playing some exciting football on the brand new state of the art pitch.
“The club have shown that they value me and in return, I want to perform at the highest level I can this coming season. Many thanks to the team at Pro Talent Sports for the work they have done to secure this.”
News of Hazard’s new deal at Lewes comes just days after Paula Howells agreed to remain with the club for next season. New boss Booth’s squad is now taking shape nicely as pre-season approaches.
