Bristol City forward Woolley signs new deal

Bristol City forward Jesse Woolley has signed a new one-year contract with the club according to reports on The Robins’ official website.

The 21-year-old made 11 appearances for Bristol City in this season’s Barclays Women’s Championship, helping the club to record a third-place finish on their return to the second tier.

Bristol City have a great record when it comes to dedicating time to developing young players and head coach Lauren Smith will now be able to work with forward Woolley for an extended period with the player having extended her contract at The Robins’ High Performance Centre.

After signing on again with The Robins, Woolley said “Obviously, it was a bit of a stop-start season for me last year so to have signed this contract is a nice feeling as I want to go out there and make a difference to the team.

“I’ve been at this club for 14 years so to sign a new deal that keeps me here next season is great. This club means a lot to me and I love representing my city.

“Everyone at the club has the same ambitions and I believe we have the players, staff and facilities to reach them. I’m really looking forward to next season as I’m keen to play my part and have an impact on the results as well as making progress on last year’s third-place finish.”

Woolley’s new deal comes off the back of teammates Jasmine Bull and Maddi Wilde signing their first professional contracts with Bristol City last week.
