Sheffield United teenager Chenè Muir has signed a new contract with the club for next season according to reports on The Blades’ official website.
The youngster spent the closing stages of this season on the fringes of the Sheffield United first team squad with head coach Neil Redfearn inviting the player to step up from the club’s Regional Talent Centre (RTC). Muir was named as a substitute on three occasions but the player is still awaiting her senior debut.
The England Under-17 international is primarily a forward and she will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow youngster Lucy Watson in making her mark on the senior side at Sheffield United.
After signing her new deal with The Blades, Muir said “I can’t wait to get started in my first full season as a first team player and I’m excited to see my development throughout the year.
“Hopefully I can get some time, I’m ready to put the work in and try and bring something to the squad. Last season I was given that opportunity by Redders and getting a feel of what it’s like being a first team player which I’m grateful for. I’m just excited for my first full season.”
Sheffield United have now agreed new terms with 10 players, those being Courtney Sweetman-Kirk, Maddy Cusack, Charlotte Newsham, Tamara Wilcock, Lara Miller, Mia Enderby, Bex Rayner, Alethea Paul, Georgia Walters and Muir.
