Everton have announced the news that captain Danielle Turner is leaving the club this summer when her current contract comes to an end.
The 30-year-old Warrington-born centre-back has been with The Blue Girls for more than 15 years after joining the club as a youth.
Turner’s contract at Walton Hall Park is up this summer and the club have announced that the player will be moving on for a new challenge. Turner’s departure will undoubtedly be a loss to Everton and new manager Brian Sørensen is likely to recruit a replacement in the summer transfer window.
The defender was twice a Vitality Women’s FA Cup runner-up with Everton while she was a member of the team which won the FA Women’s Super League 2 Spring Series in 2017. Turner has been an important member of the Everton side since they returned to the Barclays Women’s Super League.
In her final season with the club, Turner featured in 21 of Everton’s 22 matches in the Barclays Women’s Super League in which she contributed two goals. The player leaves Walton Hall Park after making more than 150 appearances for Everton in all competitions.
Turner joins Claire Emslie and Simone Magill in leaving The Blue Girls this summer.
🔵 | Captain @danturner11 will depart Everton following the conclusion of her contract at the end of this month, having given 15 years of fine service to the Club.
The Club would like to thank Dan for her loyal service and we wish her success for the future.#ThankYouDan
