Defender Roe signs new Charlton Athletic deal

Defender Beth Roe has signed a new one-year contract with Barclays Women’s Championship club Charlton Athletic according to reports on The Addicks’ official website.

The 22-year-old joined the South East Londoners on a permanent deal last summer following a successful loan spell at The Oakwood from former club Brighton & Hove Albion.

Roe missed just one Barclays Women’s Championship game this season as she proved to be a reliable option for head coach Karen Hills.

With Roe being an important piece of the Charlton Athletic jigsaw, the club have today agreed terms with the player on a one-year contract extension.

After signing on again with The Addicks, Roe said “I am thrilled to be extending my stay at Charlton, I think we achieved a lot in our first season as a fully professional team, and we can all be proud. Now looking ahead into the upcoming season we can really look to push on even further.”

Charlton Athletic ended their first season as a full-time professional team in fifth position in the Barclays Women’s Championship table. While a top half of the table finish was respectable, the club are driving their women’s team forward and they have a vision to achieve much more. This is an important summer for The Addicks with the club needing to compliment their retained players with some top quality signings.
