Six players have left Sheffield United at the end of their current deals including highly-rated forward Lucy Watson.
The Blades announced the news via a post on their official club website. The club have indicated that those players who have departed are seeking opportunities in full-time football.
It has been reported that Fran Kitching, Lucy Watson, Ocean Rolandsen, Jess Clarke, Georgia Robert and Jess Reavill have all opted to move on.
Forward Watson is arguably the most high-profile departure. The 18-year-old netted eight goals in 22 Barclays Women’s Championship outings for Sheffield United this season. The England Under-19 international was Sheffield United’s most exciting up and coming talent and she has been linked with a number of Barclays Women’s Super League clubs.
Goalkeeper Kitching and defender Robert both missed just two league games this season while forward Clarke was also a regular in the Sheffield United side. Those players seem likely to find new full-time clubs in the English game at their current level or above.
Defender Rolandsen made just five league appearances for The Blades in 2021/2022 while midfielder Reavill is a young talent who is yet to really make her mark in the senior game.
Sheffield United have issued thanks to their departing players for their efforts this season.
