Liverpool winger Melissa Lawley has signed a new contract with the club according to reports on The Reds’ official website.
The 28-year-old former England international has spent the last three seasons with the Merseyside club. Lawley has made more than 50 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions. The player made 21 appearances as Matt Beard’s side won this season’s Barclays Women’s Championship along with promotion back to the top flight.
Lawley will now be looking forward to testing herself at the highest level once again after committing her future to Liverpool.
After signing on again at Prenton Park, Lawley said “It’s a great time to be here and I’m just excited to carry on my journey with this amazing club.
“Last season was an amazing experience and I know there’s more to come from this group of girls.
“Obviously it’s going to be a challenging year, but with the group of players we’ve got and the staff behind us we’ll go in as a together team, work hard and the performances will come.”
Lawley follows left-back Megan Campbell in agreeing new terms with Liverpool so far during the close season. Further squad news is expected to be announced by The Reds in the coming days.
