Coventry United have announced the news that midfielder Mollie Green is leaving the club.
The 24-year-old has spent one season at the Butts Park Arena in which she established herself very much as a fans’ favourite.
Green featured in all 22 Barclays Women’s Championship matches for the Warwickshire club, scoring three goals. The former Manchester United midfielder wrote herself into the Coventry United history books on the final day of the season with her 97th-minute free-kick earning her side a crucial 1-0 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road which secured the club’s second tier status.
Coventry United have today reverted to part-time operations meaning that some players will be moving on in a bid to retain full-time professional careers and Green is seemingly one of those affected by the decision. The player should not be short of offers for her services after representing the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United so far in her career. Green was a Barclays Women’s Championship title winner with the latter in 2019.
There will be a number of changes in personnel at Coventry United in the coming weeks. The club are yet to appoint their management team for 2022/2023 while The Red and Greens will be working hard to bring in some new players who will operate under their new part-time model.

We wish you all the luck in your career and thank you for the amazing memories 👊
You will stay in the hearts of every United fan forever ❤️
