Northern Ireland international midfielder Sarah Robson has signed a new contract with Barclays Women’s Championship club Durham.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Wildcats earlier today.
The 35-year-old has been with Durham for the last five years and has played an influential role in their rise up the Barclays Women’s Championship table. Robson made 20 appearances for Lee Sanders’ side in last season’s Barclays Women’s Championship.
With Robson being a key member of the Durham team, the club have today announced that the midfielder will be staying on at Maiden Castle for another season.
After signing her new deal with Durham, the player said “There was no other option really, I never thought about moving away from Durham.
“The last five years have been amazing and this is an opportunity that I’d never give up.
“Since we’ve been little girls, all we’ve ever wanted to do is be full-time footballers – and we’re so happy that our club that we love is offering that.”
As part of Robson’s new deal with Durham, the player will also take up a coaching role within the club’s new Barclays WSL Academy team. Robson is a UEFA B Licence holder.
