Charlton Athletic defender Kiera Skeels has signed a new one-year deal with the club according to reports on The Addicks’ official website.
The 20-year-old centre-back joined Karen Hills’ side on a free transfer last summer after her time with former club Reading came to an end.
Skeels made 19 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Championship for Charlton Athletic last season, helping the club to achieve a top half of the table finish.
The youngster is blossoming into a top defender and Charlton Athletic have therefore moved to retain her services for another year.
After signing on again at The Oakwood, Skeels said “I’m delighted to sign a new contract. I’m really excited to get going again. I really enjoyed last season, I feel like I developed a lot as a player and I am just looking to do that again next season.”
Charlton Athletic head coach Hills has already put down some solid foundations for the new season despite the big kick-off being almost two months away. The Addicks have now agreed contract extensions with seven players, those being Lauren Bruton, Ella Rutherford, Mia Ross, Emma Follis, Beth Roe, Hannah Godfrey and Skeels. There is some way to go but the South East Londoners’ squad is looking good.
