Birmingham City have completed the signing of midfielder Charlie Devlin on a season-long loan deal from Leicester City.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Birmingham City this morning.
Devlin is a former graduate of the Arsenal academy before dropping down into the Barclays Women’s Championship with Millwall Lionesses. In 2018, she joined Manchester United and helped The Red Devils to the league title at the first attempt. Devlin then had a brief spell with Charlton Athletic before joining Leicester City where she won another Barclays Women’s Championship title. The midfielder made six appearances for The Foxes in the top flight last term.
Given her record in the Barclays Women’s Championship, Devlin could be a real asset for new club Birmingham City.
After completing her move to St Andrew’s, Devlin said “I’m so excited. There is a good vibe and good energy here. With the group of girls we’ve got, I feel like we’ve got a good team spirit to do well in this league.
“I like the way Darren (Carter) manages the girls and the style of football will really benefit me.”
Devlin becomes Birmingham City’s eighth signing of what has been a very busy summer transfer window for the Midlands club.
