Coventry United midfielder Anna Wilcox has signed a new contract with the club for the upcoming season.
The Red and Greens announced the news earlier today via a post on their official club Twitter account. Wilcox will also combine her playing role with a community partnership position.
Wilcox is currently enjoying her second spell with Coventry United after returning to the club in 2020. The player is a survivor from the club’s days competing in the non-elite game. The midfielder is hovering around the 100-game mark for Coventry United, a real achievement for any player at any level of the game.
Last season was a difficult one for Wilcox who was able to make just five appearances for Coventry United in all competitions but she will be hoping to make a greater contribution for the team in 2022/2023.
Wilcox’s new deal is the latest move in a busy 24 hours for the Warwickshire club. New head coach Lee Burch made two new signings yesterday. The club added former Manchester United and Manchester City midfielder Cara Milne-Redhead along with former Watford goalkeeper Mia Smith. It promises to be a hectic few weeks for Burch and his new side with Coventry United adapting to their new temporary part-time operating model. Further new deals and new additions are certain to be announced.
