Crystal Palace set to mount serious promotion push after announcing 15 new signings

Crystal Palace look set to challenge for promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League after announcing 15 summer signings.

The Eagles unveiled details of their squad for the new season via a post on their official website this lunchtime.

The South Londoners will have a new face in goal this season with former Sheffield United goalkeeper Fran Kitching having joined the club while Natalia Negri has also come in to challenge. In defence, there have also been reinforcements brought in with Fliss Gibbons, Hollie Olding and Polly Doran having joined the club.

Crystal Palace boss Dean Davenport has significantly strengthened his midfield after making six new additions. Chloe Arthur, Anna Filbey, Chloe Peplow (loan), Kirsten Reilly, Ellie Noble and Shauna Guyett have all signed on at Hayes Lane. Finally, in attack Rianna Dean, Annabel Blanchard, Paige Bailey-Gayle and Elise Hughes have all joined the club for 2022/2023.

Last season saw Crystal Palace finish in fourth place in the Barclays Women’s Championship, their highest league placing to date. It has been a case of steady progress for The Eagles in recent seasons but their development looks set to significantly increase this year. If the Crystal Palace squad perform to their full potential, there is every chance that the club will be pushing for the league title.
