Former Liverpool forward Amalie Thestrup has joined West Ham United on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The Hammers announced the transfer via an update on their official club website this afternoon.
The 27-year-old Danish international striker is currently on the books of Dutch club PSV after joining them on a free transfer in summer 2021.
Thestrup previously spent one season in England with Liverpool back in 2020/2021. She netted four goals in 17 Barclays Women’s Championship appearances for The Reds. She will now be hoping to provide some strong competition for the attacking positions in an ever-improving West Ham United side.
After completing her loan move to West Ham United, Thestrup said “It feels amazing to join West Ham United. I’m really excited to be here, meet the girls and the staff and to get started here in London.
“When joining the club on loan became an opportunity, it was really a no-brainer for me to make the move here. It’s a well established Club in the Barclays Women’s Super League, which is probably the best league in the world at the moment.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to play with and compete against some of the best players on the planet, so I’m super-excited to have the opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”
Thestrup will be available for selection for new club West Ham United once international clearance is received.
